Mothering Sunday 14th March

Mothering Sunday, the religious event of 16th Century Britain that became a tradition. People in servitude would return to their mother church in the village for a special service on the fourth Sunday of Lent,  It would be the last Sunday that they could be spared before the big preparations of Easter. They picked wildflowers like daffodils and Lilies as gifts to present and hence the custom of the many bouquets of flowers of today.
